You are definitely correct about the job. Unfortunately, as a person in a creative field, there really aren't many opportunities for me. As for my parents, I definitely think they're working the same angle as your Dad. My parents also spent much of my childhood carting us around learning specialists trying to figure out what was wrong with us. They have such shitty self esteem it's like they can't believe they managed to create two intelligent children. Though I admit, I'm glad they care too much, rather than not at all.

Glad you have found a new job that makes you happy! While I know very little about you, you seem like a pleasant and hard-working person and it certainly seems like you put in a lot of hours. So I'm glad you're in a better place now!
