Its a great feeling when you suddenly realize that its a three-day weekend we observe New Years Day on Monday since it falls on a Sunday this year. Barring any explosions or gun shot wounds Ill be hitting the SGAZ New Years Even fiesta tomorrow night. Im trying to decide how drunk Id like to be.
Bought a 1 1/4 x 15 x 21 piece of swamp ash from Woodworkers Source and found that the actual thickness of a Fender bass is closer to 1 1/2, so instead of buying a new piece of Ash (at those dimensions anything bigger would be more difficult to find), I bought a 3/4 x 15 x 25 piece of African Mahogany that Im going to have planed to 1/4 thick, then Ill glue it to the top and hopefully produce an effect somewhat similar to this:
Still uncertain about the finish I want to use.
I ordered some stuff from Stewart MacDonald: neck plate, 500k pots, chrome knobs, a stereo jack, and a pickup and a neck pocket template.
Not much else to report, Im afraid.
