"In order to be a realist, you must believe in miracles."
Sometimes others have said so much more eloquently what is jumbled up inside of me...
They ask me how I feel
And if my love is real
And how I know I'll make it through.
And they, they look at me and frown,
They'd like to drive me from this town,
They don't want...

man... what's your excuse? it didn't turn out so bad after all. i wouldn't go back for anything, but there are worse places to end up for a wedding.

but with me they form this dense sickly smog around my best foot forward mind and tether me down with their tendrils of DOOM, DOOM i tells ya
it's just... you know when the more you concentrate on not thinking something the more it burrows in, i just need to get back to my own life and stop living in this limbo that's supposed to be my "home"

sometimes people dissapoint you too much and then its hard to remember why you love at all.
it doesnt matter anyway, the end cant be too far off.

Try this: be a total dick. Not like MEAN or anything, but just you know, calculated and selfish -- decide what you want out of a situation, and just step all over everyone to get it. It must be fun for you though. Dont' try it if you can't enjoy it.
It's amazing how much you'll find yourself loved, adored, and appreciated.
The world is a wonderous place.

ember:
Hmm...being a dick isn't going to cut it. It might win over some people at first (since we all love to adore those over-confident assholes), but after awhile, people will get bored of feeling trudged on all the time and will find someone who appreciates them. Or, those people will stick around, but your relationship with them will be very unhealthy. I've witnessed this first-hand many many times.
If people don't appreciate you for who you are, fuck them. I know people say that all the time...but it's a truth that needs to be realized. And why don't people find you worthwhile? Or do you only think they don't? I've had similar issues in the past...nobody liked me in highschool and I just shut myself off to the world, until one day I realized, nobody DISLIKED me, I just never really opened up to anyone. Just make an attempt to open up to people and I'm sure you'll find that you are infact worthwhile afterall.
Think of it this way...I noticed that twice now you've left comments on my journal, and now here I am trying my damndest to give you good advice. Why? All you had to do was make yourself known, and that, to me, makes me view you as being worthwhile, not to sound stalkerish or anything.
A lot of this is me trying to understand how you feel based on the little information given...so, maybe I'm talking through my ass a lot, but hopefully I'm doing it in a way that makes you realize that it's easy to make people think you're worthwhile. Just be yourself and make yourself known.

The Path that leadeth on is lighted by one fire-
the light of daring burning in the heart.
The more one dares,
the more he shall obtain.
The more he fears,
the more that light shall pale
- and that alone can guide.

I'm finally back in communication and in NY. It's been too long (even though it's only been a few weeks.)
Still, I'm here and thanks for the inquiry.
Great quotes. Here's to perseverance.

What most people want to talk about
Is filled with pop cultural blowouts
But listen careful here so I can get the signal clear
These words are timeless and sincere
My race and timeline stretches
Thousands of years of slanty eyes and yellow faces
History of poverty and rebellion
Only lead to growing frustration

Eunice once told me when you really love someone so much, you often have unrealistic expectations of/for them. We expect them to know things, do things, say thingsto be supernatural humans because somewhere in our hearts, that is how we see them. Thats why we are more forgiving of our friends and acquaintances - because our expectations for them arent as high. Unfortunately, there seems...

I wish I had the words to show you how I feel about the situation. No, I wish I had a camera to show you what plays in my head. No, I wish I had a baseball bat to show you exactly.
But there are no emotions, none sad enough, none angry enough, none bleak enough, none loud enough, none ugly enough, none violent enough,...

hola -
re: bombs in nowhere - you're so right about how people who live in nowhere are worried for no reason. galvagin has complained - more than once - about how messed up homeland security funds are: medium cities in iowa get as much/proportional funds as NYC, DC, SF and so on, when they have a much, much *smaller* chance of being attacked. it's a breakdown of self-interest (thanks adam smith
). you're also right that an attack there would be absolutely too terrifying for words. a lot of the attacks now make a sick kind of sense ... that would seem so irrational, beyond logic...
remember: there's always time to do something.

happy belated.
also- i think it's not the story which really matters, but the way you tell the story. the best stories sometimes can be utterly benign and boring and pedestrian... it's the way one tells the story that makes it magical, tragic, profound, and meaningful. and also editing. careful, careful, editing.
i think i was writing something about life as a movie... some huge, extended metaphor, the other day.
if i find an easy way to discover a direction, purpose, or meaningful pursuit, you'll be the first i share it with. i think the key is focus, which i've always been terrible at. i hear they make drugs for this, but am hesitant to look towards chemicals as the solution.
sorry if i'm scattered today. surreal experience yesterday and vivid, strange dreams last night have my head all cloudy and out of sorts...
love.
