saw the indigo girls, felt their music, made my heart sigh.

does anybody wonder where/how they fuck they are going to dispose of the hundreds of thousands of huge batteries from hybrid gas-electric autos?

a calander year ago things were different. its now a lifetime later, and its better now.

currently reading some foucault [madness and civilization, discipline and punish]....makes you really think about crime/punish/reform/prison if it already doesnt make you go "hmm"

if i see you on the street today, may the words of my mouth and the meditations of my heart be uplifting to you

my sweetheart showed me this:

If Death...
if death should come asking for me
do me the favor
of telling him to come back tomorrow
because i stil haven't paid my debts
nor finished a poem
nor said goodbye to anyone
nor prepared clothing for the trip
nor delivered that package i promised to
nor locked up my desk drawers
nor told my friends what i should have
nor sniffed the fragrance of the unborn rose
nor laid bare my roots
nor answered an overdue letter
because i havent even washed my hands
or known a son
or gone hiking in unknown countries
nor do i know the sea's seven sails
nor the song of mariners
if death should come
pease tell him i understand and to wait a bit
because i havent kissed my sweetheart goodbye
nor shaken hands with my family
nor dusted my books
nor whislted my favorite song
nor become reconciled with my enemies
tell him i havent yet attempted suicide nor seen my people freed
tell him if he comes to return tomorrow
that its not because i fear him but because
i havent even set off along the road.

-Diamanda Galas [malediction and prayer]

i dont fear death, but i fear the loss of the promise of a future
