Today was fun. Even though it was hotter than a crotch. I tortured myself all day long with the boston movie shit. But I've made a dent in the last two hours or so. So that's good.

I'm kinda counting the days until big bro, his wife, and I drive back to the southland. I'm coming back up to South Dakota with them in late August. Then there's nothing stopping me from staying until October, when the hellspawn is due to hatch from its leathery shell. But I really don't want to miss Autumn in Tennessee. It's something else.

I helped make a sorbet with the wife today. It was fun. I did all the hard work. I squeezed those sumbitch ratfuck lemons for all I was worth. Apparently bro's wife had never seen anyone cry hysterically while squeezing a lemon. My dad calls tighty-whiteys lemon chokers. But that's a whole other matter.

I got to see Mr. Rogers play with Koko the gorilla. She took his shoes and socks off. They must've cut away when she started to forcibly take his pants and underwear off. I saw that gorilla lick its lips. Hungrily.

Quick. What's the sign for cattle prod? Nevermind. Just go get the cattle prod. What's the sign for crime against nature? What's the sign for not a banana? Don't show this tape to my wife. I'm begging you.

Nah. I like Mr. Rogers. I gotta get back to work. ooo aaa

Yes, I'm a State student here. My mom's side of the family are dead set against Ole Miss, believe me. The only reason I wound up going to State was that I was an engineering major back in the beginnings of my undergrad days, and State's the place to go for that shit. I really don't get much into the rivalry between the two, but we did kick some Ole Miss ass in the last Egg Bowl.

I'm down with the Carter family. I can't say I've listened to all of their stuff, but I've definitely liked what I've heard so far.

I'm at the Chickasawhay down in Laurel working for the summer. I haven't worked on any burial mounds, and I imagine those are a little rarer than most people think. My field school site just north of Starkville had a mound, but it was a Mississippian site, so no burials in the mound. There were, however, burials in the village around the mound, and I got to work on some of those. I'm pretty sure some Archaic mounds have been identified in Mississippi, mostly in the southern part of the state. I can't say for certain, but I believe I heard of a Middle Archaic mound on the De Soto forest that they found last year or earlier this year. And there are a couple of Poverty Point, Late Archiac sites with mounds just across from Louisiana.
