pudding

ethan is visiting this weekend which is cool, it's nice to see a familiar face, not knowing anyone here sucks. we went out to dinner and visited point fermin. i used ethan and joe as test subjects for the recipe for a fancy ham and swiss sandwich recipe that i got from food network, it was good. at this very second i am making lemon poppyseed bubble scones, if they are half as good cooked as they are raw then i will be happy with them. i took our cat mikey to the vet yesterday because he had been gagging in a very painful looking way and i thought he might be having some sort of hairball issue. it turns out that he is having problems with his liver. they said that they would keep him for three days and run all kind of tests and hopefully they could figure out what is wrong and treat it, sounded good, so when they told me it was going to be somewhere to the tune of nine hundred dollars and that they could arrange for us to pay with a payment plan (the limit being $1,200) i wasn't terribly worried about the cost. i thought that they would be able to figure it out through all the blood work and what not. so they call today and say that they ran all the tests and they still don't know what is wrong and that they think the only way to figure it out is to send him to a special vet and get an ultrasound and a biopsy of his liver. unfortunately the special vet services and requisite hospital stay are going to cost $2,000 +. we don't have that kind of money and have no way of getting it. joe explained our situation to the vet and he said that they could try to treat his symptoms and see how that goes. but mikey is not eating, they have the poor little guy on an iv and had to force feed him. i feel so bad for him. we went to visit him today and he semed happy to see us. he thumped his tail a lot and rolled over onto his back so i could pet between his front paws. he even licked my arm, and he bit joe but i'm sure it was a love bite. mikey is like that. we have only had him for a little over a month but i have grown terribly attatched to my pudgy little companion, he follows me around the house and takes naps with me allt he time. the cage that he is in at the clinic is huge and all the nurses dote on him because he is so sweet and loving even to strangers. i feel guilty that we don't have the money, i'm just hoping that he starts eating on his own and that he responds positively to the treatment he's getting.
