Can't sleep. Did a reading:

1st: Strength which I interpret to mean finding strength through controlled restraint. By controlling urges without denying them or repressing them we become more adult, and in a sense stronger.

2nd: The Devil suggesting that the aforementioned urges are, in essence, evil and that through learning to control them I am removing personal (psychological, emotional, etc.) blocks that are hindering my growth and personal balance.

3rd: The Wheel of Fortune suggesting that by gaining this control and stability lead to a new phase of life; that the turning of the Wheel may well bring me luck.

Note: Personally I don't believe that luck is random, but rather that each person creates their own luck through their choices and actions. Also, this card is signicant to me as it is my birth-date card.

4th: The Lovers indicating a choice of some significance is to be made relating, perhaps, to my love life, but in this context is more likely to indicate a choice having more to do with the path my life will be taking in this new chapter.

5th: The Six of Wands which indicates reward for efforts expended. Achievement and recognition of it is due. In this context it would seem to indicate that I'll likely choose to make the right decisions for myself.

All in all, one of the more concise readings I've done in some time, giving me a sense of positivity regarding my future about to become my present.

i always found readings frascinating. even if one doesnt believe in their outcomes, one can usually glean some kind of outlook from the cards to help them decide which direction to take. which, possibly, was the original intent to begin with. sort of an auto-psychiatry. i could use some of that

Verrry interesting... Is this like a progression spread (present-path from present to future-future)? Sounds pretty prescient to me. Starting from a position of Strength, always good. The Devil, representing things that we are bound to (obsessions, addictions, etc.); not necessarily evil (you young whippersnappers toss that word around too much, IMHO!) but definitely hinderances to growth. Could be something that's in your way right now that you need to work on. Wheel of Fortune says that a certain element of "fate" will be playing its hand (I agree, luck really isn't as random as it may seem; our choices and actions have a lot to do with it. I have learned over the years, however, that one must always make concessions for chaos. Chaos happens; the Trickster gets his licks in more often than we'd care to admit!). The Lovers, definitely indicating a choice that must be made. Six of Wands, an *excellent* outcome card! Yep, this is a great reading with some very positive energy behind it. Now I'm inspired to do one... smile
