my left ear hurts like shit. i think i have an infection, but i have no idea how that could have happened? also, i have a very sore throat. too bad there's nothing wrong with my nose, then i could go to the ear, nose & throat doctor and say "give me the works!".
dinosaur jr.'s album "where you been" has to be in the top 5 of all time. although, my top 5 would probably consist of like 38 albums, since it's impossible to narrow it down any more than that. there would be 8-way ties for every spot.
new mars volta comes out today, speaking of albums. i need to go get that.
a good movie i just watched over the weekend was amores perros. it was real depressing, which is what i like best in a movie. there were lots of bloody and dead dogs, which was a bit unnerving. the animal rights people were probably all over the filmmakers the whole time. isn't it weird (and unsettling) to think that if that movie had been made 15-20 years ago (sometime before the animal rights groups got involved, i don't know when it was) that they probably would have just actually had the dogs fight in the dog fighting scenes? on another note, up until i watched this movie, i thought gael garcia bernal was the *woman* in y tu mama tambien. i was all excited to watch amores perros, cause that lady is great, and then i saw the real gael garcia and thought, "oh, shit, that guys in this too?" then after like half an hour i realized that the girl wasn't in it, because her name isn't gael garcia bernal. i have yet to look and see what it actually is. i just assumed it was her. haha!

i just got back from tower, with the new mars volta album, de-loused in the comatorium. jesus fucking christ, this thing is out of control! if the tremulant ep was one of da vinci's sketches on a napkin, this motherfucker is the mona lisa. it's absolutely brilliant, i love it, i can't say enough about it, please go buy it. you owe it to yourself.
