Considering I spend several hours a day on the computer and make a decent amount of money online, I'm quite surprised that I haven't heard of The Million Dollar Homepage sooner.
The MDHP is one of the most brilliant and impressive things I've ever seen online. This summer, towards the end of August, a 21 year old British kid named Alex Tew came up with this novel concept. He was going to create a website with a million pixels. Pixels could be purchased for a buck a piece in blocks of 10x10 (so 100 pixels for $100 for advertising purposes.
Basically, you could buy a block or combine several blocks to create an ad which would link to your website. The kid promises to keep the site up for a minimum of five years. He came up with the idea in order to pay for his tuition and buy some new socks.
In less than 5 months, after huge worldwide press coverage and hundreds of copycat sites, the kid actually sold all 1 million pixels. In fact, he auctioned off the last 1000 pixels on eBay for over $38K. So in less than five months, the kid made $1.037 million. Holy fuck.
In my opinion, the kid is a fucking genius. I wish I had come up with the idea myself.

anyways i came to say, i didnt mean to be a pain in the butt about the kitties
