So I got to be in Victoria a few weeks ago (pre-snowpocalypse), weather was awesome. Haven't been on the island since Aug 2010, so I checked the weather reports. Since it wasn't well in the minus like the Okanagan, thought it was gonna be warm. Dumbass, forgot about the moisture off the ocean. Stepped off the plane and froze. Went for a nice walk along the waterfront to the parliament building, the place where all injustice takes root, and the scenery was gorgeous. Windy as hell, but sunny and semi-dry. On my way back to my hotel room I came across this graffiti, thought it was cool so I took a pic.

The way I look at it art doesn't have to hang in a museum to qualify as quality. All shapes and sizes right? I had a great time going up and down the island trying to visit as many peeps as I could in my limited time frame. Still ended up getting bitched at by those I didn't see, but that seems inevitable. I get two more weeks of vacation coming to me this year so I'll venture back at some point and do it all again.

I did get to enjoy some Noodle Box, which is something I absolutely crave from time to time. When I lived on the island, my roommate and I would drive 3 hrs just to have lunch. Of course we did a lot of weird shit just because we got bored. I learned to hate the phrases "adventure" and "cowboy up", because they were seldom thought through, and rarely ended well.

Random Thought:

The religious masses have a faith that strives from blindness. Evolutionists have a belief based on proven fact. One often holds more stock in something that can never be witnessed, where the other often only believes in what can be proven. It's a conundrum that faces a lot of people in scientific fields that are still people of faith, especially health professionals. I don't begrudge anyone their faith, whatever form it takes, but I think its interesting on the semantics of it all. Tell a religious person that dragons and wizards once existed because you read it in a book, and they will most likely rebuke that it is preposterous, you are a fool for believing in such nonsense, and have you ever met someone who has witnessed such an event?

But they still gather in droves to worship a virgin birth, hear about spontaneous parting seas, and men hearing voices emitting from burning bushes, among other magical feats written in a book, never witnessed by anyone alive. Might as well just say Jesus was a zombie, after all he did rise from the grave. (going to hell for that one.)

Peace out SG land, to thy own selves be true.

Yeah, I wish I hadn't just started a new job. I'd definitely run away for a while. I get a three day weekend next week, will probably head home for a bit then smile.

Hey, thanks for the kind words, I really needed them.

Cool graffiti! I used to live in houston and got to see my fair share of neat graffiti while wandering the city.

Hmmm... people of faith only bug me when they tell me they don't believe dinosaurs ever existed and that scientists just fabricate their findings and lie. I don't get how they can do that. There's something terribly wrong with that logic... or at least I think so.

Hope you're well. smile
