I just started a new semester in school. I'm learning how to do automotive paint this semester. I'm really excited, I especially cant wait to start learning about custom paint jobs. The only problem is I now have to buy a ton of new tools for the paint program, so I am going to be pretty broke these next few months.
Work has been kicking my ass lately. We have a 2008 Shelby Mustang in the shop right now. It was hit hard in the ass end, and it needs a TON of work. I spent the last 2 days drilling out spot welds and removing panels from the mustang. Almost the entire ass end is going to be replaced. If this car were 3 or 4 years old it easily would have been a total. So I've been drilling out spot welds, cutting sheet metal and generally tearing this car down. My arms are covered in little scabs and bruises from working on this particular car, I'm really not exaggerating when I say its kicking my ass.
I've been trying to read more lately. I started to read Moby Dick, but I ended up losing interest. I did just read a really great book called Overqualified. The author is the same guy that does asofterworld.com.....Joey Comeau. He's a really awesome writer, I've found a few of his short stories and things like that, and I'm really impressed with his writing style. I also just read Alice in Wonderland tonight. It was a surprisingly short read, I read it in a few hours.
Its 5 AM and I cant sleep. I woke up at 3 AM when I heard my phone going off. I was getting a text message from my girlfriend. I knew it was her, she's the only one that would message me so late. But we havent been getting to talk to each other much lately so I got online and chatted with her for a little bit. Long distance relationships SUCK, I'm so sick of the time zone difference. I cant wait till November, when I can finally see her.
I guess thats it for now. I've got a family reunion tomorrow, havent seen most of them in 4 or 5 years. Should be fun.
