damnit! i keep trying to update my profile pic, and it's not working!! i'm doing everything i'm supposed to, and when i hit 'submit' it says it worked, but it's still not there! i don't know what the dilly-o is.
i'm extremely annoyed right now. the KALX station manager finally emailed me back about coming back to the station. she said that i couldn't get a retroactive leave of absence, since i've been away for over a year, and that's fine -i knew it was a long shot, anyway- BUT she also told me that i would have to go through dj TRAINING again. that means that AFTER my 3 month probation period, i would have to put my name on a list and wait until my name came up so i could start training at something i already know how to do. that is such BULLSHIT! i already know how to cue the music up, adjust the levels, do mic breaks, read the required amount of psa's, sign the fcc log, etc. re-training me would just be a waste of everyone's time, not to mention humiliating for me. plus, if i have to go through the entire training process again, i'd have to do 8 shows at 3;30 in the morning, and i just can't do that right now! when i was trained the first time around i wasn't working, or going to school, or had any kind of 'adult' responsibilities.
i'm positive that there have been people who have been gone for over a year and were still able to come back w/o having to go through all that bullshit. i'll have to ask some people. my friend sergio is in the training dept., so he might be able to schmooze some people into letting me go w/o the re-training. i can't find his number, though, and he rarely answers his email.
