will somebody please explain all of the merfs to me?

i have to dj a wedding today, and i reallyreallyreally don't want to do it. it's not that i think dj-ing weddings are lame; i usually don't mind doing them. the people who hire me are usually people who are looking for an 'alternative' dj....and it's not that they requested bad music...actually, a lot of the music was stuff i liked... it was just that i got the sense that they don't really have an idea of what they want me to play... which makes it difficult for ME to get an idea of what i want to play. the two of them also can't really agree on the music they want, which just spells disaster. plus, a lot of the stuff the boy requested for dancing is stuff that you can't really dance to? yet, it's a traditional type wedding reception with family and friends and crap. so, i KNOW what's going to happen- i'm going to start playing the stuff they thought they wanted, they're going to realize that the stuff they wanted won't really work, and they're going to start asking me to play something completely different. i'm just going to bring ALL my music [which i hate to do] and see what happens.
blah.
plus there's the fact that i really wanted to play at the winery and/or the cat club, instead of doing this.
update: the winery tour has been postponed, so at least i won't be missing that.
i am all too familiar with where 'merf' started, i just want to know about all the other merfs today!

good luck at the wedding...that's no good that you have to bring all your music just because people suck.

Yup, as you saw the winery thin was postponed. Maybe July. If people want to come up here 4th of July weekend, Napa has fireworks...
