The car thing, it was just something that occurred to me...not exactly sure how I feel about it. I do know that the seat belt law is designed to save the driver from himself, but someone blasting down the road at 110 MPH is a danger to others. And that's basically what "the law" does, it protects you from others!
Oh yeah, and as far as not wanting a car that can't go over the speed limit, Model Ts had a top speed of about 45 MPH. I think we're just used to the fact that a car nowadays CAN go so fast. Nobody cared then...but Model Ts aren't sexy, I guess
