we just upgraded our computer to osx [finally]. but now the monitor's all dark for some reason, and we can't fix it. it's starting to give me a headache
i am SO happy right now!!! sean sullivan, the boy i've had a crush on for 14 years, just called me. no, not b/c of THAT- nothing must ever happen between us...in fact, i'm pretty sure if anything did it would completely ruin the crush, and the image i have of him. i had seen him last thursday which is soundbotique night at the ivy room; he's in charge of booking dj's for thursday nights, so i talked to him about that and gave him 2 cd's of mixes of mine. one cd was a mix of glam rock, indie pop, and go-go music, the other one was the funk/hip-hop mix i did a month ago, which you may've heard. he listened to the first one [he hasn't listened to the second yet], and said he liked it a lot. he said he also does this thing tuesday nights at Radio in oakland, where dj's spin glam rock, punk, power pop, etc. [mostly danceable stuff, though], and told me to come by next tuesday to spin some stuff.
hopefully it'll turn into something regular. yay!!!
i realized that part of the reason why i'm kind of depressed about prom is that i'm pretty disappointed in my dj'ing that night. people said they liked it a lot, but i fucked up a lot. i had made out a playlist for myself, complete with the exact time left on each song [i only played cd's, and cd decks always have a counter] when i should start the next song, so the mix would be smooth and flawless, but i forgot to bring it. i'm thinking of just recording the prom mix again, on a cd, the way it was meant to sound...it would make me feel better, anyway. if you want a copy, i'll make you one. we can't host our mixes on our website anymore, b/c bmi wants us to pay for the music we play
i'm very, very sad about paul_mauddib being gone. i loved that guy. he was so sweet. he's the only person, of those who have met me in real life, who thinks i should be an sg. kept insisting on it even. i still think he's insane, but it was so sweet.
if you're my friend, remember to never lie to me. i always find out, and i never forget
