I'm a total flake, and it's going to get worse. I work full time at a job I hate, and try to spend every other available moment of my day working towards my future, pounding out music, making new projects, and trying to 'network'. I'm so bad at the latter. It's taking all my effort.

I have such a hard time justifying "having fun" when...

We have the same life practically. I hate my job, but spend every waking moment working on my artwork, writing to galleries, going to meetings, proposals...etc. I envy lazy people sometimes. I wish I could just come home from work and watch tv while drinking a few beers. Fuck that. Lazy people are fuckin boring, they never amount to anything and they will grow to be old and poor. Sounds like you're on the right track.

Sometimes being creative can be a curse and a blessing.

I had heard of that second book before. My Amazon wishlist is really just my "what I'm gonna buy myself when I have more money" list, so I added them there. I'm going to spend a year in the Caribbean next year focusing on writing and guitar (before I head off to school again), so I'm looking for good books like the ones you pointed out. To bring with me.

So, yes, in sum, thank you.

My new phone should be here soon. Woot. Stupid old intermittently-working cellphones.

Now to geek out:

I'm getting a "new" computer (either trading a laptop for a desktop, or putting together a new box with used parts via Free Geek) soon. I'm gonna use it as a file server so i can dump all my music files onto it. That way i don't have 5...

This link narrows down the distributions a little. I personally prefer fedora/red hat based distros, but since you're already familiar with Debian based systems, you should probably stick with those since they tend to be more focused toward the web/ftp server users.

I just randomly noticed we share two of the same favorite SG's. Totally meaningless observation.

But I'm drunk. And my observations lose meaning the more beer I drink. I hear Gentoo comes highly recommended for non business purposes.
