St Paddy's Day....The gang was going to Newport for breakfast, then watch the parade - but the weather SUCKS ASS! Snowed yesterday, then rained all night (more on that later!) - was supposed to rain today, too. So no one is going to the parade. Tonight a friend's band (Alter Ego) is playing at Mardi Gras. They are opening for a band that is doing a reunion thing tonight (Strut). Mardi Gras closes at 1 - which is good. A favorite band of mine Sasquatch and the Sickabillies is playing at The Living Room - I'm hoping to get there to see at least part of the show.
Rain: Unfortunately, we have big problems where I live when it rains/snows. The gutters form ice dams and the water gets trapped on the roof. Naturally, the water seeks to find it's way to lower ground. This means it somehow finds it's way through the roof. A few of the units here had water leaking in overnight. I got a call at 8:30 this morning asking what they should do (I'm the treasurer of the condo association). This is going to need to get fixed somehow. A new roof and new gutter system to stop the ice dams is going to cost big $$$. So much for the tax refund!
What other tidbits do I want to share? The dating game sucks. Don't wanna 'date' - I want to find someone I'm comfortable with and see where it goes. Too bad you need to date to see if you're compatible. Also doesn't help that I'm shy and - as someone said recently - obtuse. I'm really not good at picking up signals from women. There are currently 3 women in the group I hang out with that I get along with really well. Is it mere friendly conversation, maybe harmless flirting - or are any of them showing some interest in me.
The birthday is coming up soon. Planning on dinner with friends at a nice place on the hill. Probably Siena - I like it there. They have a nice bottle of Dogajolo and the food is good.
OK - time to get moving. I need to shovel off the driveway so I can get out!
