I just finished a 37 page paper on Phenomenology and Poetry. It was a hellish process, but I wanted to create a work that would inflict pain on those that have to read it.

We are talking intellectual masturbation to the core.

Theoretically grounded phenomenological methodologies offer powerful tools that provide diverse understandings of the various existential elements of human experience. Poetry has been described as one of the ultimate forms of expressing the human condition. For millennia, poets and painters have recognized the notion that objects speak. With this recognition, poets have often attempted to illustrate how and why objects and experiences often communicate so much. Poets have also manipulated language and intersubjective spaces in the effort to access the essence of objects and experiences. This paper examines, though phenomenological terms, the process behind the longstanding poetic effort to access and communicate the essence of things-as-they-are.
