I walked out into the world today and ran into a couple of friends within moments of leaving the house. It's been days since I've really tried to have much of a conversation outside of my own head... I felt a little socially retarded while talking to them. Time to get out more.

I used to volunteer at an art gallery (in Buffalo NY) and every once in a while some wise-ass would suggest that abstact art was un-natural and a "learned" taste.
I still remember being on a school field trip to the Art Gallery of Ontario and seeing their Rothko for the first time.
Until then, paintings were just pictures.
When did you first discover Rothko?

Somehow I totally missed them but a friend just gave me OK computer. What a treat to be hearing all this for the first time.
