i bought a sorta game/toy thingee... brain buster wooden type game... i keep putting it away.. and the cats keep taking it out of the box and playing with it... 
i bought it because #1 it's called brain bender, #2 it cost $4.00...
now the $4.00 is the key... rewind back to christmas.
so my sister's kids hand me a present from my sister (not the kids... if it were from the kids, it wold be another story)
well, knowing I'd be disappointed by the gift i told the kids i'd open it later ... and continued to give the kids their gifts and playing with them..... and having a good time.
well.. what did she get me?
a tin of 15 board games, chutes and ladders, chess, checkers, travel bingo.. etc....
1) I couldn't help it i found out what it cost.... $4
2) I live by my freakin' self, you big dummy... who am i going to play fuckin' 15 board games with... the cats? Maggie?
3) sadly Lucian got the same thing....
4) and the whole point... it wasn't the thought, there was no thought... a card that said i can't get you anything this year. would've been okay, and totally understandable.
5) the best present i got this year was from Nancy at work, the threw me a fantastic bowl!!! it's so awesome.. it's could be a planter or a giant cereal bowl..!!! mmmmmm
i talked to my dad.... i said "okay, i'm not complaining... but what in the fuck is your daughter thinking?"
he laughed... i asked lucian... lucian said " i don't want to talk about it."
i told lucian i found out how much our gift cost.... and i said... "Lucian, you are good for about 30years in gifts to our sister, me, i'm only good for 25!"
i told him... you really shouldn't give her cash... 'cos you don't know what she'll do with it....
ugggggh.... so i took the game tin to work... maybe i can play travel bingo with someone there....
but my toy that i bought .. is freakin' hard.... and illustrates, that $4 and thought can actually be a fine gift.
oh well... i doesn't really matter... it's just kinda sad, cos i put a lot of thought into everything i bought this year.... i think i'm over it.... the only reason that i'm even mentioning this.. is that the cats are having a big time with it right nos...
