A girl just tried to commit suicide by jumping of a bridge onto the freeway here.
She jumped and they rushed her to the hospital.
I was two exits away in a parking lot called the 94 Freeway.
So many lives affected for what?
Why do we feel that our pain is the only pain in the world sometimes?
It's one result of the tragedy of the societal disconnectedness that we feel towards each other.
We aren't a cozy village anymore. Instead we are a huge machine with lots of moving parts, dry and mechanical, but our emotions and our bodies still need those things living together in harmony bring us.
Next time you're out in the world. Try to feel for someone. Just one person. Live in their shoes just for one moment. Try to extend this moment and analyze it and remember the way it felt. Hopefully someday someone will do this for you when you most need it.
