Before my third set comes out tonight, I'd like to share my favorite photo and a little something I wrote about it.
"This photo is so special to me, not because of this incredibly elaborate ink in my skin, but because you can so clearly see my back surgery scar. All day I read the awful things being written about us on social media: too big, too small, not different enough, too different, slut, ugly, unwelcome, too old... I sent over 200 mostly unretouched photos to Suicide Girls because my intention was never to be a "model"?? but to celebrate the reality of what it is to be in this body. Anatomically, I am not built like you. From a very young age, I turned my pain from the inside out. The spinal condition that I was born with went undiagnosed for the majority of my life. I was losing the ability to walk when I finally had the operation. Over two years later and I'm so thankful for the mobility and sensation that has returned. My point is that I am as weird on X-ray as I am on camera. My point is that I've turned my pain into living art. If you aren't turned on by our intricacies, if you aren't amused by the strange, if you're afraid of how fucked up reality is... I fear for you and your delusions. If you're down to get weird, be weird, celebrate weird - you are welcome beside me. You have a safe place here. You are loved and appreciated beyond measure because you have brought meaning back to my life 💘 I love you XO Prodigy"
