Yeah its been hard trying to balance it all. My ex is hardly dependable for support and my bf cant afford to carry us all. I will have to do what I can to get by, my kids always come first and if it doesnt work for them, it wont work for me. So my fingers are crossed for better times ahead....just trying to stay afloat.

Thank you. As to the topic, it's really something only those unfortunate schleps like me who have to divorce folks for a living would find even mildly entertaining. Essentially, our state Supreme Court, in an effort to reach the result they wanted in one case, may have inadvertently caused a sea change in many step-parent/ child relationships . . . but again, not something I'd like to talk about, even if being paid to do so. 
It's borderline cute when someone who barely knows me says I'm being snarky when I'm actually just being direct. It makes me want to tell them that they'll know when I'm being snarky because they'll be curled up in the fetal position crying and vomiting and wishing they hadn't been born.

Not sure when I will. I am meant to go on a road trip come October but that is mostly a southwest kind of thing. I'd like to get back up there as soon as I can though. Will just have to see how the year starts to work out i guess.

I find optimism is almost always unwarranted, but that doesn't make it less useful.
OK, moving on. I should probably clarify that half a dozen friends did RSVP "maybe." The point was that only one person committed to actually showing. Just a few more would have made me feel like having the party would be worthwhile. Maybe we'll try again in April for our anniversary.
