Did everyone have a wonderful weekend, I hope?
My hubby and I spent Saturday at SeaWorld (we were originally going to go up to the premier of Pirates 3 at Disneyland but in my infinite wisdom, chickened out). I would guess that I haven't been there in about 20 years and my husband hasn't in over 10 years. . . We both remembered the place being boring as hell with nothing of interest to do and lots and lots of white concrete. We remembered that it was always insanely hot despite being on the bay and having gotten sunburned. I didn't have a very optimistic attitude toward that trip but he and I ended up being immensely surprised.
The food there was quite good and decently priced and we really enjoyed the exhibits (not too surprising because we love animals). We were both shocked at how thoroughly themed much of the park was -- sad to say (and hard to say as a Disney fan) but Disney could really learn a few things from looking at SeaWorld.
We watched the killer whale show (I don't want to get in trouble for using a trademarked/copyright stage name tongue ) well out of the splash zone. I thought what they did with the giant moving movie screens was stupid and most likely a huge waste of money, and there wasn't nearly enough killer whale time but all in all, it wasn't that bad. We may not see it a lot, though -- big crowds horrify me and there were more people packed into that stadium than I've seen in a very long time.

On Sunday we went out to lunch and I had to visit a bead store to purchase stuff for a commission I didn't entirely want to do. . . but for the most part stuck around here. When I woke up in the morning, I felt like I had a hangover. When did it get so hard to go out and DO stuff for a full day? For goodness sake, I'm not that old or that out of shape! frown

So I sat around home Sunday and yesterday. . . I made 3 necklaces (one of which was the commission -- amber and garnet), 3 bracelets and a pair of earrings. I have the intent to sell all of the jewelry but I feel like I'm a little too enamored with the red tigereye bracelet to let it go.
I also started working on my novel again and got a few good pages written. I mean, it felt like old times where my hand literally can't go fast enough to keep up with my thoughts. I MISS that!

The big important prop for my next (?) set attempt arrived in the mail yesterday, too. Looked better than I thought it would. I had another idea for a set that would be easier to prepare for but we would need a big studio in which to set up. Right now I have no idea what to do first.
The good news is I'm inspired, which means I'm probably going manic. Eh, at least I got my usual piercing with a manic episode out of the way. One less thing I have to do! wink

Today I'm working on my resume (I know I said I needed to do that a long time ago. . . still haven't). I'm not allowing myself to check SG until it's done.

I hope I see you guys for Bare Bum Thursday. blush

gosh, I was 15 when I went to Sea Wourld, last with my folks from Germany, I have to go again, it's not that far away from me now.
thanks for writing about it.
good luck with your second attemt on the set. I shot one set that got rejected, feels shitty, but I learned much from the feedback, even the negative once.
have a good week smile

I've got a couple of friends in Raleigh who make jewelry as well.
I know all about commissions you don't really want... I do leather working and only really make stuff when I'm inspired. Which isn't TOO often. And never when someone is expecting a particular item from me. Bleh.
