no i don't believe it seperates us from nature. it teaches that everything is an illusion that there is no "them". all beings multiply countless times, at the temple we use to meditate on the idea that at one time every living thing was our mother, thus cultivating compassion for all living things. no better or worse. every sentient being is on it's own kharma journey and we all suffer. as a buddhist it is the pratice of not adding to anythings suffering that causes one to act out of compassion. thus generating good virtues which are dedicated back to all sentient beings thus increasing even more good kharma to be had threw out this reality as we know it.
