My family's i-tunes is better at shuffle than mine: Currently listening to 311: Amber (?).

I'll be driving up to NC to take my sis to camp on Sat. That's why I am not doing the CS thing then. When my dad came in and asked me to drop the CS so we could leave earlier I really didn't want to but I figured if I didn't we would get in the most rediculuos argument ever.

Dad: I forbid you from sorting canned foods for the needy!

Me: But all the other kids get to!

Dad: You're grounded from community service!

Me: I hate you! (Exit stage left crying, open next scene listening to bright eyes or something equivalent there of).

Now listening to: Toasters: Running right through the world

Hey, Micheal Jackson is acquitted of all ten charges. How about that? Now that this is over maybe we'll see a new OJ Simpson case. Quick difference between CNN and Fox News:
CNN's headline: Jackson Acquitted
Fox's headline: NOT GUILTY

Plus Fox's crawl said, "Son of a bitch!" and "So close" a few times more than was professional.

Currently listening to: Antiflag: Wake Up!
gonzoe:
while you are correct in many points, you need to note that i did not say "the planet is in a second dark age", i said "us". i know that at the time, only europe was experiencing those effects, and on top of that, mostly western europe. but a dark age is still a dark age, no matter where it happens.

and of course there's always progress. there was progress in the dark ages. there were people painting and monks making illuminated manuscripts and minor inventions. but there was no wild thought. today, the "out there" artists just try to think of the most insane thing to get a rise out of people. they aren't trying to genuinely create that which has never been dreamed of.

what i talked about was a lack of genuine creativity and bold discovery. this coupled with war and ignorance is what creates a dark age. monumental gothic cathredrals were built in the dark ages. that obviously required a degree of technology. which is why the technology of the time is not a factor in the enlightment of that period.

titanic is the highest grossing movie of all time. and that movie bends true creativity over and fucks it up the ass.

so, yes, while i understand what you're saying, i still stand steadfast to my original argument.

but thank you for trying. please come again. biggrin
