today was a good day.
the last of my 3 days off from work in a row...
A little drama with the ex, but it didn't last too long...
her: so I guess you guessed that eric came to hang out with me this weekend..
me: no.. I really hadn't given much thought to who you're hanging out with, but since you're mentioning it... I guess he did
her: oh... forget it.. it never used to be this uncomfortable talking to you
now... someone please explain to me why on earth I would sit around my house all weekend wondering and figuring out who the fuck is driving out to Terre Haute to stick it to my ex-girlfriend... and why on earth did she feel the need to instant message me to bring it up???? and on top of that, how was my response to the question making the conversation uncomfortable.. was it because I was honest?? was it because I don't really care one way or the other who she's hanging out with?? I don't get it... really!!!
outside of that.. great day... I sat around and didn't do shit for most of the day... then we practiced with our old guitar player.. the one that played on our last album. He had quit about a year ago and we've gone through 3 different guitarists since.. and auditioned about 10 more.. it's been a pretty shitty year for The Retreads... it looks like it's finally gonna get better. I'm really happy to have Jon back in the band and that everyone has kissed and made up.. we played through the songs like we had been together all along.. and the irony is that he quit the band right before I joined.. we had never played together but it felt like we had.. seemed more comfortable than the band has felt the whole time I've been playing with them..
