crazy Yuri, crack is for babies!
crackbaby.com was a great news site run by some guy who likes PHP. It was great. It was very democratic in that anyone, member or not (membership was free and painless), could submit interesting news articles, stories, hell even just silly shit like flash games to the site. The admin would review the submissions and post the better stuff. Anyway, as the election got closer and closer, the site's content became more and more political. Now, I don't know exactly any of what happened, but this is my understanding. Herein is mostly conjecture. Something someone said must've really pissed off someone else because the site became a target for various forms of network attacks. The admin initially scoffed, and the site remained. But I think it got so bad that it bothered the hosting company, and they had to take action. The site was down, replaced as I recall by a forbidden message. I think this happened in September. A short while later, the site had a new home, well more of a placeholder for its new home. I had hoped it would come back after the election, but . . .
And now I continue to check on it several times a week, just to see if today is our lucky day. I miss that site, man! I've been a habitual reader since I found it. And I'm not being crazy schizoid boy when I say "our." That site was a great public service!
