Assembly Bill 390 would legalize the sale of marijuana for adults.
NORML is asking for your support of Assembly Bill 390, the Marijuana Control, Regulation, and Education Act -- the first bill ever introduced to legalize the sale and use of marijuana in California. The bill has been referred to the Assembly Committees on Public Safety and Health.
Assembly Bill 390 will be heard by members of the Assembly Public Safety Committee on Tuesday, March 31 in room 126 of the Assembly Building at 9am. Committee members may vote on this measure directly after the hearing.
Karen Bass, assembly speaker, is moving this bill fast in order to kill it. It is imperative that the members of this committee do not kill it at this hearing. It needs time to be discussed and modified, a process that all bills go through.
