For the last 3 years, A friend and I have been planning a trip to circumnavigate South Africa,and raise funds for a charity that supports quadriplegics.
You would not believe the amount of red tape involved in such a venture,but after receiving a positive call yesterday,it seems that things are back on track again.
We have estimated the trip to be around 4800 km (about 3000 miles)and it should take us about 16 days to do.
I will be leaving today to go and drive the trip in my 4 x 4.We need to mark out a route with a GPS and start getting permissions from local town councils as well as private land owners.
I will be taking my laptop with and should be able to stay in contact with friends,but just in case i cant get reception,i would like to let you all know that i will be gone for the next 10 days.
