On the Valentines Day before I turned 19 my now Husband and I had been dating for 4 months. We were young and impulsive and decided that we wanted to get tattoos together. We took a couple weeks to think through what design we would get because we wanted to make sure the meaning of the tattoo would be right for us. We decided on Koi fish tattoos swimming upwards to signify that we have overcome obstacles and have now gained the strength we need to continue against the current together. When we hold hands Our koi touch each other and there is a hidden heart in the currents around our fish. Every now and again our oldest likes to don a temporary koi fish tattoo where we have ours. I am so glad that we didn't hesitate to get these just because we were only just getting to know each other. We have been together for almost 7 years, Married for almost 2 and we have two wonderful Daughters. I had no idea how true the meaning of my tattoo would be for my future but it really has marked the beginning of the rest of my life. <3
