This morning, while everyone else was either sleeping off the effects of alcohol, cuddling with their (possibly) loved one, or simply out cold because it's fucking 4:45 am, I was getting up to go rowing in English Bay.

That's the kind of person I am: better than you.

Okay, fine, I'm not better than you or anyone else, but I was up at the crack of ass so I could go rowing. It wasn't my idea. It was my brother's idea. And he had to drive out from East Jesus... with the rowboat. Which he made. I'm a big fan of fine products made with wood (I come from a long line of woodworkers) so I'm really proud of my brother's boat.



There were a few small ducks, but I really like Canada geese, so I snapped a few pictures of 'em. They were snoozing on the shore by the boat launch. There was also a bald eagle in the tree nearby, getting attacked by a seagull. I didn't take pictures of that, though. Zoom lens wasn't zoomy enough for it.



When the weather's nice, this city looks spectacular in the morning. There was almost nobody else awake. Everything was so still and quiet. But the sun was rising from behind the city so there was lots of light.



There was a special temporary float out in the middle of the water, halfway between Kits and English Bay. We rowed out to it to have a look. One of the ships was about the same size as three of the others. I think it was from Russia or Poland.



Around the other side, the ships were backlit. And smaller.



It really was a great morning.



But would it be complete without some waterfowl looking at its crotch? No. It wouldn't. Don't worry. I am prepared. That's the kind of person I am: better than you. I even added some dialogue!
