I have recently "discovered" the Sami language and I must say that it is like discovering a basement filled with bottles of amazing alcohol that I've never tasted before. It has quite intoxicated me
For those of you who don't know what the hell I'm talking about, let me quote Wikipedia :
"Sami or Saami is a general name for a group of Uralic languages spoken by the Sami people in parts of northern Finland, Norway, Sweden and extreme northwestern Russia, in Northern Europe."
I am trying my hardest to find music in this language, and so far have found two vastly different "singers."
I found SOFIA JANNOK who sings in Sami and AMOC who raps, yes, I said raps, in Inari Sami which is an almost extinct dialect of the language.
It's really beautiful, now if only I could learn to speak it!
Has anyone else on here ever heard this beautiful language?
