HOLLYWOOD IS FUCKING CLOSED
Yeah, we finally got some potentially great news about getting this movie made...Friday I found out that a major actor want to be involved. In what capacity, we don't know...but we spent the weekend waiting for Monday to roll around so we could find out whether we could finally get this off the ground. And there another actor who is undecided, but he likes the script.
We deal with all these people through their agents...the producers and I don't contact them directly.
To fill you in...it will take 6 weeks to prep this movie. We still need to raise the money, but after the big name attachments are there, this will be easier. But in the best case scenario, it will be about 3 months before we can shoot.
This movie is supposed to happen on New Year's, so we're already pushing our luck that March will still look like winter in Texas.
Anyway, finally some good news, right?
Well, all around town today, at this major agency, the answering people are saying..."Ooooh, sorry. The office is closed until January 4." So we pretty much can't talk to them for three weeks, by which time...who knows what.
So, i feel pretty well fucked, when it seemed like things were finally happening.
3 weeks off? Then in Jan everybody goes to Sundance, so AAAARRRGH!
Unbefuckinglievable.
Everything takes forfuckingever in this industrry. I'm running out of money. But I can't take work because I might have to quit in a moment's notice. And now people who can afford to take nearly a month off. Agents.
This is the business we have chosen.
