Well, some things are worth kicking in the butt quickly, like boredom and wallowing! So thanks for all the positivity y'all threw my way. I appreciate it very much. Yesterday afternoon I decided it was time to do something about it all, and got the suggesting of taking up django. At least for the purpose of learning something new. I was actually impressed with the ease of getting everything set up. I did have some trouble setting up a symlink so I chose to install via the setup.py script. SO much easier. It compiled and everything was ready to be made. Except for my db, which hasn't been configured yet. But hey, I'm excited to be learning something new. Kind of uneasy in that I don't know anyone to actually go to for help questions, but I guess that's part of the fun of being autodidactic.

I'm going to Vegas tomorrow. That's all great and everything, but I've got to take the Metro to get to the point of departure. I fear the Subway! While I've taken them before, never have I been on the LA Metro. I've got to take the red line from Union. I'm told it's straightforward and everything, but still! Scared! I imagine that scene from The Office where Michael goes to NYC and while giving a tour, sees a hobo pooping in a box on the Subway strairs. This is what I expect to happen. This is my vision of the Subway.

I'm still really happy about Macenstein's Mac Chick of the Month. Related to Macs, thanks for all the MBP advice. It's weird. When I'm running everything externally, the waking problem doesn't occur, but when I'm using it as a laptop, it occurs occasionally.
