i went down to E3 on thursday. thanks to gerry_d. my feet are still sore from my horrible decision to wear 5 inch platforms from 10am until 2:30am. i just wanted to be tall(er)! i did not get to play the burning crusade at all. to be honest, i didn't really care to, considering there were no female draenei females to play. i did not realize that the flying mounts were there, and ready to play. thus, i regret not pushing ahead and getting on a computer. at least beta is soonish. most impressive was the Wii. despite the horrible name, it totally came out on top. i had the opportunitely to play it, and while it was slightly awkward at first, i enjoy the different style of controller. i'll definitely be grabbing one when they hit. the warhammer 40k: dark crusade game was also incredibly cool. it had me so excited, i wanted to rush home and install 40k on my windows partition at once. alas, between the 360, WoW and oblivion, i have no time for another game. yet. the last thing i want to mention is the desperate housewives game. who knew they could make a game out of a show catering to 35 year old women. during a demo, i saw sneaking around, presumably to have an affair with a neighbour, and a cooking task, which involved frying meatballs. exciting!

that evening was the blizzard E3 party, which once again was made better with alcohol. there was much dancing to terrible music. and pictures that i probably don't want to see.

now, completely unrelated to videogames, and the like. i have a story. i've been meaning to tell it, as it caught me so off guard. after years of storing childhood lessons in the back of mind, i finally got to put them in action. i sat waiting on a bench to be picked up by one of the twins (males twins, get your minds out of the gutter boys). no makeup, loose clothes. a car, graphite in color, mid price range, sat waiting to pull out onto the street. he made some hand gestures in my directions, so i looked away. not giving up, he pulls out, slows down and stops in front of me. he's a 40ish white man wearing a grey wife beater. "you need a ride?" he asks. i say no, look away. he sits. "well, do you want to go for a drive?". his manner was beyond nonchalant. as if asking young girls on benchesto get in his car is completely normal. i say no, with a very obvious are you insane tone in my voice. he sits, still. kind of shrugs, and then drives off. after almost 26 years, a stranger finally asks me to get in his car. if only he had offered me candy, or help finding his lost puppy.

Did you happen to take a look at Company of Heroes while you were checking out Warhammer?

Dude, because you so eloquently defended Brit in that CW thread, I quoted you in a newswire post about the video...
