I feel like I've been away for, like, ever.

I allowed my membership to slip a little, and I turned grey (as the saying goes).

Still, settled into my new flat now, and I'm back amongst the massed ranks of the SGUK posse. I'm sure there were a lot less of us the last time I looked...

Looks like I'm now a fully-fledged part...

Hey, looks like I actually have something to say in my journal this week.

I bought a flat.

Woo.

Actually, I'm excited as all hell about this - I've never owned property, and it really is the perfect flat. I'm so happy...

It's a wee one bedroom place for me and my lady here in the centre of Glasgow. It's in a development called Homes...

The Christmas holidays always really take it out of me.

Just returned home after a few days at my lady's parents' place... and it's a relief, I can't take the family for long. Small doses only, please.

Tomorrow I set off for a week in and around Hull visiting my folks. I feel better about that, but I'm sure my other half feels as apprehensive...

Well, the friends' band thang on Sunday was rockin'... Dan (from A), and Ritchie (from Cable and Sunna), joined by whatsisface from Hundred Reasons and a couple of others.

Top blokes, and fairly nice rawk.

For a band that had been playing together for five days, they kicked arse royally.

Anyhoo... What have I been up to? I've mostly been drinking. I feel as though...

There's nowt wrong with drinking til 4.30 tongue although I cant manage it as well as I used to. You just have to worry when you starting saying 'You startin like! Aye come on then! I'm gonna slash you likes!'

Bugger. After three consecutive overblown nights out, I find out that a couple of old friends have formed a band and are playing tonight here in Glasgow.

So, thanks to this UK rawk supergroup of sorts, I must go out again. Dammit. I'm just not destined to get that washing-up done this weekend.

Tonight I head for Edinburgh, and a wedding reception.

The wedding itself was a surprise, to the happy couple as much as to anybody else. They got drunk in Vegas and ended up being wed by an Elvis-a-like in a pink cadillac.

My friends rock.

Hehe. Another plan coming together.

Plan after plan, plot after plot.

I have a friend who works in the Library of one of the universities here in Glasgow. She put an order out for me through the Interlibrary system, which allows you to borrow books from any library around the world.

I wanted a book called Vas: An Opera In Flatland, which was a very...

I love it when a plan comes together.

Those times when all the bands you like line up and form an orderly queue to play night after night in your very own city.

Saturday, I DJed after the Cherrykicks and April's Last Chance. Sunday I saw the Cherrykicks again. Monday the Dangerfields rolled into town. Tuesday was a night off. Wednesday the Dirtbombs rocked my...

Snuff? Didnt they do a cover of Wanabee?
vampsinthe78:
Snuff were great fun, last time I saw them. Blimey Oct 2000. Seems not that long ago. They had Mikabomb supporting them who are funking great. How tricks? Nice to see that lineup of gigs. Um. Yep, I'd see them too. smile @_@ v78

Okay so I haven't mentioned this until the last minute (partly because I'm wary of jinxing it by making it out to be a big deal)... But I'm DJing tomorrow night (Sat 22nd) at the Carling Academy here in Glasgow.

Guest DJs from different rock clubs, fire eaters, circus freaks, skaters, loud music, visuals, lots of cheap jack daniels, 3 top-tastic Glasgow bands, and whatever...

Sorry that everyone seemed to jump all over you about the telly thing, I guess stuff like that really provokes dramatic reactions. It did in myself anyway smile

What do you spin? And you've got good taste in books. PWEI forever!!
