I have a friend who works in the Library of one of the universities here in Glasgow. She put an order out for me through the Interlibrary system, which allows you to borrow books from any library around the world.
I wanted a book called Vas: An Opera In Flatland, which was a very limited print run, and I couldn't get hold of.
Today it arrived - I've just picked it up from her in the pub. It's fucking gorgeous.
The inscription in the front states that it has been delivered on loan for me from the library at the University of Stanford, California.
