Yo.
So i'm back from Sweden. I had an awesome time. I shall tell you what I did and show you some pictures (although my fucking camera fucked up halfway through so I don't have as many as i'd like). It's a truly stunning country. Beautiful people. Beautiful culture. Beautifully clean. And it snowed. I was very happy. Cold. But happy.
I arrived Thursday night after a flight delay, and had honey on toast and tea before I went to sleep on the sofa. I was quite content because Anna had the most wonderful smelling peach soap in her bathroom.
Friday I was up at 7am to go to school with Anna. I've been in once before - last Christmas. The kids don't really speak any English. It's a Muslim school, so Swedish is only their second language. I was so impressed though, they're nine and had gotten Anna to teach them loads of questions in English so that they could talk to me. They also picked up 'I love you' from the television, so there was quite a lot of that flying around - genuine from the girls and as an insult between the boys. "Haha. Ali loves Rebecca SOOO much." It was funny. We had lunch (hamburgers and salad and a glass of milk - OMG, practically my perfect meal) and then went outside to play in the snow. The girls had me rolling down a hill, the boys eventually got me involved in a snow(ice)ball fight which turned into a full scale war. I took a shot to the ear, but thankfully it was non-fatal. After school we had to drop books off at the library - it's like being in the year 2033. Seriously, there's all these little gadgets where you return your own books by putting them on a conveyor belt and some computer sorts them into where they're supposed to go and then it gives you a lift home. Ok. It doesn't give you a lift home, but give those Swedes a year and i'm sure they'll have sorted it. Went for coffee, then watched Sixteen Candles (I heart Molly) and ate lasagne before shooting some pool in a very swanky pool hall and watching Seven.
Saturday we drove to Copenhagen and went to the Metro. It's like the Danish equivalent of Makro. I picked up some black cheese for me and my Dad (think blue cheese to the extreme), some blue fruit tea and an as yet un-named artefact as a present for V Doll. Then we drove (after getting a little confused on the 02 highway) to the Louisiana Gallery in Humlebaek just up the coast. The drive was beautiful, and the gallery was architecturally stunning. I loved it. The exhibition we went to see was by Gerhard Richter. It was incredible. There was also an exhibit by Leon Kossoff but it's not to my taste.
We drove back accross the bridge to Malmo, ate chicken wraps and then went to Anna's friends house for a little girly night. There were eight of us. They all wanted to get wasted. They all spoke in Swedish. And being the little emo kid I am I was totally under-dressed. They wanted to hit a club. I started feeling little utter shit. So I got drunk. I know i'm supposed to be edge now, but I have two weeks to get 'clean', and it was either drink or sink into a world of paranoia. I had a really good night in the end. We rode these sixties bikes to the club (the kind that has no hand brake, you have to pedal backwards to stop it). It was total trashy pop tunes, but funny. I got hit on by some really desperate Swedes towards the end. Oh I felt SO hot.
Sunday I didn't have too much of a hangover cause I drank three pints of water before bed. Anna did however. We showered. Ate eggs on toast and a banana. Watched Pretty in Pink (did I mention I heart Molly?). Then we went cycling round the city and out for coffee. Fresh air worked wonders for Anna's hangover. We went out for steak and it was fucking amazing. Rare and dripping with blood just how I like it. I'd rather eat my own foot than a well done steak.
Monday we went horseriding. It was so so cold, but amazing. I was riding Niklas and I managed to canter. Ya-hoo. I guess some girls are just born to ride
.
Came home stinking of horse shit. Showered, ate goats cheese, honey and red onion toasties. Went to H and M, bought some lovely lovely things. Went to the supermarket to buy vegetables and some of my favourite Swedish treats to take home.
Then we cooked Rabbit stew (mmm) and watched more That 70's Show before I went to the airport.
I got home and it was snowing. Keray-zee. So that's about it anyway. Everyone should visit Scandanavia. When I move there and have little Swedish babies you're all welcome to stay.
Needless to say my hands are sore and Anna has no soap left xXx
