Nice. So there are other Lovecraft fans out there in uniform, weirdness. ANother track, I thought (danged urban legends) that lower arm ink was out in your line of work. Then again, there was this Bravo in N Afghanistan who had some crazy shit on his neck...

So... I'm all caught up with Battlestar Galactica. Now to wait for the second half of the season to start.

So I've got my next new addiction... Heroes.

I really need to stop downloading stuff off of iTunes. wink
spica:
Never seen Battlestar Galactica, but Heores? I'm hooked.
Can't wait for the next chapters...

Okay.

I tried to take the high road when my father remarried.

I tried to be sympathetic and understand he was was lonely, even though my mother hadn't even been dead for a fucking year before he was engaged to someone he knew for four months.

I tried to be friendly and cordial and understand that I am off doing my own thing, so when...

I'm sorry. Maybe that's his way of grieving. He can't take living in a home where everything reminds him of her. He might regret it later. As for his wife, maybe you should have a talk w her. Let her know it'd be nice if she took it slow and kept her boundries. Your family is going through difficult times, ya know? I hope it all works out smile Merry Christmas
spica:
Home is somewhere. Perhaps everywhere else?
Don't let your father ruin not only your Christmas, but your definition of home.

I know I'm far away, but my couch is your couch. kiss

Well, all, it's Christmas time.

The Poconos are unusually warm.

Good: Chris and I get along smashingly. My Dad has a wireless network so I can rock some seriously quick internet (I can get almost a whole season of a show off of iTunes in the time it took to get one ot two episodes in California).

Bad: My Dad's new wife is kind of...

Got my scores from my last series of tests.

1+ Listening
2 Reading
2 Speaking.

Too bad I needed a 2 on Listening too. I missed it by one question.

FUCK!

I'm still walking on Wednesday, but I won't get the AA from DLI.
spica:
>_< for the Listening

Wow, that's rather odd. biggrin

I'm Croatian/Irish amongst other things....if you do know your Croatian Geography though, my family hails from Lika and the city Perusic. Famous for huge people. haha

I'm planning on returning hopefully next year this time visiting the village where my Great-Grandparents came from.

Funnily enough, you don't really need to learn the language to get around there, everyone under 30 speaks English. That said, I'm still trying to learn the language as well.

Yup. Our brigade got over 150 slots for Jan and Feb. Every goddamn E5 and E6 that needs any sort of NCOES is getting it. I'd give you my slot if I could man... SGT is the last rank I'll ever see. tongue

So...

I've been seeing this girl for a few weeks now. We can say now we're boyfriend and girlfriend. We spent a lovely weekend in Carmel, at a little inn where you can see the ocean from our room.

Of course, the whole deal could go away soon enough. She's Army also, and doesn't know where she'll go after DLI. She's of course going to...

Sweet. Girls are good for the soul or heart or maybe both. Brave man, starting a relationship in the Army. I hope she gets to Carson.

Yeah, I worked with a few US citizen 'terps. They definitely rock. I am looking back at the well-paid comment, and think I should just have said paid. We used a lot of younger guys, mostly unmarried, so looking to get bride-price, if you will.

In the long run, the risk they have taken is not equalled by the money we gave them.

I see you have (the) Wounds on your wishlist. Great movie. And One Bullet Away. Good read. If my memory serves me, same crew as Generation Kill, but written by a thinking man.
trevor:
You'd be correct my good man, in true Cav fashion. Honestly, I could do without the whole cowboy shtick, but I figured I'd get all dressy for the little lady.

Looks like you'll be showin' up while I'm still on leave. But sometime after Jan 15th I'll be sure to take you out and show you the sights, deal?
