went to the Red Vic last night and saw the opening of "Freestyle" a documentry about well, freestyling. The art of spontaneous spoken word. It was seriously moving. I didn't know what to expect really. But it blew my mind. I did a superb job of giving historical roots to a subject many don't understand or even give much thought. It started with people like The Last Poets in New York in 68', other beats and influences like Southern Baptist preachers and took it all the way to Juice battling Supernatural and stomping him.
I highly recommend seeing this little indie film if it ever comes to your town.
