So I was talking with a friend the other day and we came across an interesting thought... why the hell did countries like Canda and Russia sign on to the Kyoto treaty? I mean, honestly, couldn't they USE a few more degrees? Granted they stand to lose some square footage, but overall they would gain a LOT of habitable land. Climate change may be a threat to consider, but global warming seems like it might be desirable depending on where you are located.
While I admit this may SOUND awfully Republican in a Conspiracy Theory kind of way, I really am driven to ask "what the hell were they thinking?" It seems to me that there must be a hidden motive there ... especially for the countries that are forced to actually DO something (unlike China and India, who are temporarily "exempt" from any limits due to the developing country clauses). Hmmm...
