No fooling. A woman seeing a man. He goes off to war. She ends up getting engaged to a wealthier but boring man. The soldier comes home and shows up on the night before the wedding to get her to elope with him.
That's the EXACT story of my parents courtship. EXCEPT she didn't run off with the soldier and married the boring dude AKA my father.
