I've never 100% "gotten" blogs. I have a hard time comprehending people reading and finding my lame ass life interesting. Y'all remember this movie?
When it first came out, people rolled their eyes. Why would people want to spend their time watching the most boring human being alive? Then blogspot came along. Then myspace came along. Then twitter came along. The minutia of our daily lives out there for people to watch, laugh, and masturbate to.
While looking up the Truman Show, I found this Newsweek article on something called the Truman Show delusion. It's where someone believes they are secretly on a reality show.
Narcissism and paranoid delusions aren't anything new. What I found interesting was these people's reactions. Some of them were happy. These patients thought they were loved and adored by millions and were about to win a fortune.
But not all of them.

One came to New York to check whether the World Trade Center had actually fallen_believing 9/11 to be an elaborate plot twist in his personal storyline. Another came to climb the Statue of Liberty, believing that he'd be reunited with his high-school girlfriend at the top, and finally be released from the "show."
That's the saddest thing I've read in a while.
All of this would be much more profound if I didn't check SG 20x a day to see if I get new comments.
