What I love most about this time of year isn't the snow, it isn't the promise of gifts, but it is the joy I get to go over board with cutesy confections. I have been spending my whole day hidden away in my apartment listening to Christmas music, sneaking my dog some naughty treats and baking away. I have all my sugar/sour cream cookies ready to come alive tomorrow with frosting, I have sprinkled pretzel rods, candy cane chocolate bits and tomorrow I will be making my Oma's famous peanut butter cookies with stars, buckeyes, hard candy and probably some brownies too. I absolutely adore this time of year, and I hope the receivers of my confections will be delighted too! I wonder if my landlord has ever gotten a goody basket from a tenant? Ooh! I also have new neighbors next door, and tomorrow night, I hope they will feel welcome when I bring them over some nice treats... if I don't eat them all first!
