Came home early from the Latina community activist fundraiser dinner. Guest emcee was a local newscaster who I believe is form Canada. What, the one token Latina was busy or something?

My Latin sisters, much love for what you do, but the speeches, invocation (seriously, we prayed and I broke out in hives), and awards all needed more cowbell. Congrats for raising funds to open up for battered women's shelters and outreach centers for our sisters who aren't as fortunate as us -- special things happen to people who believe in their cause with their hearts and not how it will look on their CV (I'm looking at YOU, last job. You know why).

I go on my first big meeting tomorrow with big Fortune 1000 company, so I'm here at home studying the company (seriously, all I know about 'em is their freakin' jingle). Bonus though -- they have a section in Spanish (yay) but it defaults back to a strange Spanglish page (boo, come on, you're Fortune 1000, pony up for the freakin translation service).

I was really cold last night. I miss Florida in some ways, but in others, I'm glad to be inhaling the toxic fumes of sweet home Chicago. Miss you my porn peoples, when we hanging out?
