I'm Very happy with myself right now. I got a new practice group together today. My usual guitarist (and easily my favorite to play with) kenw a drummer who was looking to try "something different" to expand his own abilities. My name was brought up because I've been wanting to dable in some funk/metal fusion. The drummer asked for some slap, and aparantly he was impressed with what I could do. I couldn't be happier myself, since I haven't been a jam type situation for quite some time and I faired better than i thought my fingers would allow.
