Spent the last week away from the ship, wandering around South Africa by foot w/ backpack. Walked from Cape Town to Cape Point - by way of Table Mountain, the Valley of the Red Gods, Hout Bay, Kommetje (sp?), Scarborough, and finally the Cape Point Nature Preserve (with a whole lot of cool places whose names I don't know/didn't get/dont' remember in between)

Took just under 75 hours to get there by the route we took. Ended the journey at Simon's Town and took the train back to CapeTown Sunday morning after getting rained on ALL NIGHT. frown (straight into a bloody bicycle race!)

Coolest wildlife experiences tie between almost stepping on a Black Spitting Cobra half-way up table mountain and walking through a troop of Chacma Baboons ooo aaa down at the Cape (without incident). Been spending the last 24 hours just below Lion's Head (mtn) in the forests just chilling out, reading up on some 1880's US History and contemplating things not affiliated in any way with Sea Shepherd. (for once)

Hey there! Cape Town is such a beautiful place. My whole family moved down there from Johannesburg in the last 15 years. Only my Dad and I left in Joburg still. And my in-laws mad wish they would also move away - but not to Cape Town else I cannot go and visit my sister ...

Glad you had an unforgettable experience! wink

haha, that's actually what I was wondering also, im not sure how naked asses sell cars... whatever

Cool that you made that walk to Cape Point, I would love to do it too. Just spoke to a guy today who is partly responsible for opening the whole route, it is apparently quite a new track.Do you actually need a guide to do it?

Sorry I still havent phoned about the visit on the boat,it's just been super hectic at work and otherwise..I still wanna visit there!

Have a good weekend smile
