This project is not going well folks.
For the uninitiated, this is what I do. I write papers in my spare time in an effort to become the most fabulously well-read and prolific writer of papers that no one else has ever, EVER read.
I'm really, REALLY underground. =)
This one is a (tentatively 50pg) essay on Ideology as it relates to some aspect of...

Another day of research.
Trying to finish up the Sprinzak book today, and tripping out on the amount of synergy in the world. A few posts back I mentioned Meir Kahane, Brookylnite-cum-Israeli "terroitorial maximalist" activist and founder of the Jewish Defense League (imagine Jewish "black panthers"). Well a friend of mine, Lauren Anzaldo is on the Wheels of Justice tour these days speaking to folks...

thank you for the comment. My cat has caused NO trouble. She is as sweet as can be. She doesn't get up in the windows. She NEVER meows. She doesn't pee everywhere. And now i'm forced to be unhappy. I know i'm making this out to be a bigger deal than it is, but i love her and it's not fair.
For anyone out there reading this with NetFlix, I would humbly direct you to the Documentary portion of their online cataogue, and request your indulgence concerning the movie:
WAR PHOTOGRAPHER
It's a movie about James Nachtwey, who's pictures I've followed since his work in 91 or 92 on Romanian Orphanages. When I was in the 11th or 12th grade I had ripped the photos oazine...

"Most of the Gush (Emunim) leaders truly believed that a fruitful coexistence on the West Bank was possible and that the local popuulation would enjoy and benefit from their presence. There was, they argued, plenty of room on the West Bank for Jews and Arabs alike, and since the Arabs had always lived under brutal and inhumane foreign domination, they would appreciate the humanity of...

So here's the thing... I'm pretty sympathetic toward the cause of Palestinian Nationalism. ( by way of the pre '67 borders) But at the same time, there's a cat named Meir Kahane that's been getting my interest lately too.
I have officially dubbed him, "The Malcolm X of the Zionist Diaspora." I like Shabazz... and for some reason, and I don't know why... I kind...

Hominy Grits are my Powerbar.
That seems to be a ridiculous cultural development to me... the trend in the last decade to make high-calorie protein/carbo food in the shape of candy bars and market them to people on the go with names made up by a focus-group of midwestern tenth-graders like "tiger's milk" and "powerbar." Endurance racers competing in things like the Raid and Ultra...

Hmm, I'm not entirely sure from your post whether you're saying you like polaroids or you don't.
Either way, I just think there's something fun about that kind of the spur of the moment photography (that's not cellphone cameras... grrr at those things!), however non-true-to-life it may be. {shrugs}
Rest easy,
F

Oh, no problems. Sorry for doubting you!
I had dreams of being a photographer once upon a time, but unfortunately I listened to my father and went to business school instead, not to say I don't enjoy what I do, but I would have loved to learn more about photography.
I don't own a polaroid camera either - but I'd definitely like to someday. Perhaps I'll buy one before I go overseas to take momentos of my travels.
I'd definitely like to see some of your photography some time if you have some to share.

hey.. what do you know? After a year and three months I finally figured out how to post photos on the site.
QUICK!!! Now run and tell all your friends!
Went to work today... which seemed kind of pointless around 1pm. I always run out of stuff to do and end up fucking off with different programs trying to teach myself what they can do....

Ok fuck it... this is going to be my running log.
Did three miles today... some sprints at the turn-around point and a sprint at the end but only because I was in pain from the hike-induced road-rash that I'm still not fully recovered from.
There's a 15K in March I want to do. 9.3 miles or something like that. Seems do-able. 3 miles a...

It's Monday. I'm back. We failed. I'm depressed, but have other problems to work out too.
Does anyone know how to remove the picture on the profile pic without replacing it or am I stuck with this one until I can figure out how to change the pixel height/width of another one?

Yes, it is MUCH better to have tried and "failed" than not to have tried at all.
Have a great time, my dear.

So the one thing that's preoccupying my brain right now is this personally challenging hike and the question: "what if I quit?"
Zig-Zagging a National Forest by foot, with weight, for four days and nights... 70-80 miles by our best estimations, depending on water availablity. It's a grand idea. The idea itself is very fucking FUN, even to write.
