i'm listening to music now.
Was reading a book earlier.
Between the two I let my dog outside who ran away for the first time.
I placed an Aloe plant in the ground after having it in a pot for three years.
I listened to this American Life today, but turned it off during the story on the illiterated truckdriver.
I visited my grandparents...

I'm celebrating One Month with a Puppy today.

In hindsight it was incredibly irresponsible. I brought a puppy home - into a house where the previous dog had died of Parvo not a month earlier. I had invested vast sums of time and energy into the bleaching of 900 square feet of hardwood floors, baseboards, chair legs and furtinuture bases... everything that a sick puppy...

gosh. someone hasn't been paying attention tongue
my stuff (clothing) was in an fsu fashion show.
you can see my stuff (clothing) that i designed/patterned/sewed in one of my picture folder things.
it was nice. i've had my clothing in fashion shows before, but they were really small, and this show was about 2 hours long and had 150 other outfits in it.

congrats on the puppy.
such a complicated diet.
hm. i guess i had too much free time on my hands. ugh, i'll never get that minute back that i spent reading about your dogs diet....i think you owe me somehow...

So I have this puppy, right. A 100% pure-bred, AKC registered, North American Dirt Hound. Mom was a Lab, Dad was a Pit and somewhere in this family tree there's either a Beagle or an English Foxhound 'cause this is a tri-color dog here. But puppy has been incredibly sick. She threw up ALL night Sunday night, and I took her to the vet 'cause...

Next week there's a 15K called the River Run thats held here annually. I wanted to do it this year, but thought it was later... like late April or May. Turns out it's next week. Since deciding to train for a half marathon a few weeks ago, it's kind of been in the front of my mind... how doing ther River Run would be a good stepping stone and such. There's no way to train for that in a week though. Right now I'm running two mile bridge runs and intervals with maybe a three mile MAX distance.

I'm not sure, but I think I did a 10K once when I was in Korea. I didn't have a choice in the matter, and it was on a Saturday so I was pretty pissed off and can't remember anything about it other than I started and finished and was beaten by the fucking hardest old man to ever live on his Fiftieth Birthday. I think it was just shy of 7 miles or something. which means that the 15K would be just shy of 10 miles if I remember that correctly.

Goals:
a. running 1/2 marathon distances by Sept.
b. getting stronger/bigger. (ideal: 230 lbs)
c. find a job teaching.
d. *maybe get back into grappling.

So about a month ago, half the company I work for was divided into two groups. The first half went to one place the next morning and the other group went to another place. The group I was with was told they wouldn't have a job after Dec 31st.

I put off looking for another job until such time as I felt interested. Kind-of. I...

So as of today my cat is an indoor animal. I came home today and his face was TORE the FUCK up! I'm talking gash from ear to chin... It's very ugly. Capital U.

I'd put a picture up but there's enough wincing in the world.
politrix:
tonight is grillage night. Hot sausages over charcoal are the order of the night. steamed squah chips and asparagus on the side, w/ underbaked sweet potatoes and homemade bread to round it all out.

Been totally into the latest book I picked up, Bruno Latour's Pandora's Hope: Essays on the Reality of Science Studies and can't recommend it enough to anyone who reads philosophy. Especially if you're into Cartesian philosophy. (I've renamed the entire first chapter: Fuck Descartes!) It's incredible stuff, and completely irreverant to the philosophies of the past, giving it this really interesting feel and approaching a lot of old questions from new, and seemingly more relevant, angles.

I still need to get Graeber's Toward an Anthopological Meaning of Value a book I read about 100 pgs of a long time ago but never finished due to excessive course work. In a perfect world, I'd live in a building and those two would be on the first and second floor. (and my roomate would be a female sexual predator with a good heart and no morals who was into endurance fucking as sport.)

hey, a boy can dream.

New Books: Readings in Latin American History Vol I: to 1810 by Lewis Hanke, Exile and the Kingdom by Albert Camus and Utilitarianism by little Johnnie S. Mill. (wanted to finish this one before going on to Bentham's much longer Intro to the Principles of yadda yadda hoggenstein)

Took my mom to see The Motorcycle Diaries today. That did her good, I think. I've told...
